The pricing
- Replacing a fan on an existing fan-rated box – starts at $250. If your old fan is coming down and the electrical box in the ceiling is rated for fan support, this is a straightforward swap.
- New fan-rated box needed – add $150. Sometimes the existing box is inadequate – a standard light-fixture box is not built to hold a spinning 20-pound fan. If we find that, we install a proper fan-rated box.
- New and elaborate installations – starts at $475. Large or heavy designer fans, high or vaulted ceilings, assembly-intensive models, or locations without existing wiring start at $475 and go up with the extra effort required.
Why the box matters
A ceiling fan puts constant motion and weight on its mounting point. A box that was fine for a light fixture can loosen over time under a fan – that is how you get wobble, and in the worst case, a fan coming out of the ceiling. Code requires a listed fan-rated box for fan support. It is a small part of the job, but it is the part that keeps the fan where it belongs.
What is included

Usually yes. If the wiring is there, it is typically the standard installation plus a fan-rated box. Separate switches for the fan and light may involve additional wiring – we will quote it before starting.

Yes – you pick the fan, we install it. Deciding between models? We will flag ones that are known headaches to assemble or too heavy for your ceiling before you buy.
How long does it take?
