A long run from a basement panel to a detached garage means more conduit, more wire, and more labor. 2026 update: our pricing and the current incentives
Our installations start at $1,500, including the dedicated circuit, permit coordination, and inspection. Site conditions like panel capacity and the run from your panel to the garage affect the final number – see our published pricing.
The incentive picture changed in 2026, so here is the current state:
- PSE&G EV Charging Program: qualifying residential customers can receive up to $1,500 toward a Level 2 charger installation – which can offset most or all of a straightforward install – plus up to $5,000 toward a service upgrade if your home needs one to support the charger. Paid after the installation passes municipal inspection; we handle the paperwork with you.
- Federal 30C tax credit: expired. The 30% federal credit for home chargers ended for installations placed in service after June 30, 2026. If anyone promises it to you today, walk away.
- Off-peak rates: PSE&G’s old off-peak charging credit closed to new applicants in 2026 and was replaced by a residential time-of-use rate – charging overnight still costs meaningfully less, you just enroll differently.
